Our Story
We are two friends traveling the world together! We both love to travel independently (Jo's been to places like South Africa and Jack's favourite place on Earth is the Caribbean), and now we're traveling together on the adventure of a lifetime! We met a few years ago at university, went our separate career ways for a bit, and joked about leaving it all behind for about three months before we decided to actually pull the trigger, throw caution and career to the wind, and plunge straight in to a year (at least!) of budget travel across the world with only what we can carry in our backpacks. We're both in our early 30s, so we'll probably be the older pair in the hostels, but keeping up with the 20 years olds will surely be an adventure in itself. We know this trip isn't forever (but we can dream), so we're going to make the most of it, and we are incredibly happy to share our adventures with you on this blog, Instagram, YouTtube, and more! Get to Know us: Jack
How's it going guys?! My name's Jack, and I absolutely love to travel. I started traveling the United States back in 2015 on holiday weekends just to get away from home for a while. Now I travel the world seeking to learn more about other countries' history and embrace foreign cultures.
I first developed my desire to travel when I was an undergrad. Unfortunately, life had other plans, and I couldn't start my travel journey for another year and a half. Once I started, I couldn't stop, and now I literally count the days until my next trip.
I spent a few years in the military many years ago, am a skydiving coach, and even spent some time in the security consulting field before Jo called me up and proposed our year (plus) around the world. This was a lifelong dream of mine that I never thought I'd fulfill, but life has finally worked out in my favour!
I'm most looking forward to our time in Africa and the Middle East. I fell in love with the Sahara when I visited several years back for work, and the Middle East is so full of history that I cannot wait to explore.

Get to Know Us: Jo
Howdy Y’all, Jo here! Much like Jack I’ve had the travel bug most of my life and get stir crazy if I stay in one place for too long. My desire to travel started young, visiting my grandfather every summer and listening to the tales of his adventures in far off lands. That desire grew into filling most of myths school elective courses with anything related to geography, people, and culture.
When I got my passport at nine years old the first thing out of my mouth was that I wanted to fill it full of stamps. I’ve attended no less than six schools, did a stint in the military, been a server, a bartender, and worked at a construction site, all of which have led me to turning this dream trip into a reality. Jack and I are so excited for our great gallivanting around the world and want to take you along for the ride with us!
